Dear DeckTec Friends,

Anyone who has been around me long knows that Thanksgiving time is very special to me. It is the chance to look about and acknowledge the blessings of another good year, the wonderful team I work with and, of course, the terrific people who call themselves DeckTec customers.

Blessings of the Year

The summer of 2014 was tremendously successful. But we couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks! Here are some of the things that made last season so great:

  • 68 new decks were designed and built for our community. That’s roughly 22372 square feet of decking, over 3000 planks of beautiful redwood, countless deck screws and nails of the highest quality carbon steel being put into those planks, and innumerable smiles of people throughout the metropolitan Denver area.
  • Our maintenance crews cleaned, re-stained, re-painted and repaired 759 decks, ensuring that those decks will support happy families for another year in the deck’s twenty-to-thirty year lifetimes.
  • We built 25 new roof covers over existing and new decks. This means that for 25 customers, we provided healthy shade, reduced electric bills, and a superb place to read, watch children, sleep in a hammock, and generally get outside and enjoy the great life being in Colorado brings.
  • We’ve posted another 50 articles on this blog—a venue that celebrates the wonderful life that surrounds us outdoors. We’ve talked about the wildlife that is uniquely Colorado’s, and may be visiting your yard. There were articles on gardening tid-bits, and, of course, articles on growing your backyard experiences with additions to your deck environment. We hope you’ve enjoyed the reading, and will continue to be loyal followers of our outreach program.

Thanks to the DeckTec Team

One of the best parts of being a small business owner is to have the chance to know the people you work with every day—people who put every effort in keeping the DeckTec name at the top of everyone’s list when it comes to quality deck design, construction, and care.

Although I can’t call out each person by name, I am constantly aware of how much my team does—from taking inquiries over the phone, to scheduling repairs, handling our billings, and meeting with new prospective clients who have dreams of a better outdoor life at home. Thank you, everyone at DeckTec, and to all who support them in this vision of a great deck building organization!

On a more somber note, we lost a teammate this summer. If you’d had a chance to meet Al Hartman, you were lucky. This man worked at DeckTec for 23 years, and always, always, put his best efforts forward. Al took care of constructing small additions like benches and flower boxes, and had an eye for detail on the big projects that saved dollars for the customer while maintaining the overall look and feel they wanted. And the quality of his craftsmanship was unparalleled. I am truly grateful for the time I shared with Al and continue to wish his family peace.

Thanks to DeckTec’s Customers

Anyone who claims to be a self-made man is fooling himself. There is simply no such thing. Success comes with the relationships we build and the customer base we grow. No one at DeckTec is more aware of the value you, the customer, bring to our business than me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the trust you have placed in my company and staff to help you build the outdoor living experience you deserve.

From working with us to create a reality of your vision to being patient when weather and other acts of God cause delays to your maintenance, you continue to excite us with your enthusiasm and passion for the good life. A life we hope to help you build, from that first new deck to the tear down of an old friend and rebuild into a new vision.

Thank you.

And again, anyone who knows me, knows I can’t leave a conversation without making you the best offer I can.

You know that we are open all year. I like to keep my work crews on payroll, and busy. But I’m also aware that it is hard to think of sipping lemonade out on deck, when the first snow falls, and the earth is brown. So . . .

My Thanksgiving gift to you is a full 10% off any maintenance project you have for your deck—whether you’re cleaning and refinishing or doing small fix-ups and additions. Call us before December 1st and we’ll start your holiday season off right. And, as always, if you have a new deck project in mind, our design ideas never freeze up. Call us for your complimentary design session now—303.277.1550.

Wishing you every happiness this season and throughout the New Year ahead!

Sincerely,

Steve Sparhawk
President
