It’s that time of year again, when we collectively pause and take a moment from our busy lives to reflect on the many things we have to be grateful for.

No matter the ups and downs of our lives – and we all have some – there’s always so much to appreciate if we just look. We’re blessed to live in an unusually beautiful place full of cultural and recreational riches. The economy is strong and has allowed DeckTec to grow and even expand. (And, if you’re anything like me, you’re probably grateful that the elections are over!)

It’s hard for me to believe that 30 years have passed since I founded DeckTec. I was just a spry pup when I started this thing! I still feel young at heart, but the reality is that I’ve grown older and hopefully a bit wiser. With the holidays, I find myself reflecting on the past and I’ve come to realize that they have taken on a different meaning to me. My children have grown and now I’m a proud granddad to two beautiful bundles of joy! I hope that, like me, the holidays bring you all memories that make you smile and warm your heart!

Please accept my sincere and heartfelt thank you for helping to make DeckTec the thriving organization that it is today. We are truly grateful to all our many clients for the opportunity to serve you over the years. In the end, it’s all about the people we care about, you the client as well as all the fantastic people DeckTec is fortunate to employ and the wonderful vendors we deal with. Our longevity and growth would not be possible without your investment and trust in what we do, and no company that I’m aware of in our area and industry employs as many high-quality, long-term, full-time individuals as DeckTec.

We launched “The DeckTec Lifestyle” newsletter three years ago as a fun way to stay in touch with our client community, and I am happy to report that the “Lifestyle” has been well-received. I’ve received many emails and have spoken with past and current clients throughout the year and at The Garden and Home Show, and I am encouraged by the wonderful comments. We hope to soon be making some upgrades to the look, feel, and format (and possibly sending out a survey). We welcome your feedback and ideas for future content through this re-visioning process.

Going forward, we’ll of course continue to provide quality in all aspects of the work we do, in design, craftsmanship and service as we strive to enhance our homeowners’ precious leisure moments and quality time with friends and family in a beautiful outdoor environment.

With humility, I thank everyone for their contribution to a great 2018 and may I be the first to wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2019.

Cordially,
Steve Sparhawk, In Your Service
