What do you like to do on your days off? I love to be outside, and I find no greater peace than when I’m on a mountain trail hiking with my wife and 4 dogs. It’s wonderful having so many places to explore here in CO!
What is a past trend that needs to come back? Needs to go away? I think that we spend far too much time being “connected” to everyone and everything and not enough time connecting to ourselves. Living more in the moment and less on a cell phone should come back.
The trend that needs to go away forever is thinking that women aren’t as capable as men at anything. Break all the glass ceilings, ladies!
What is your favorite part of working at DeckTec? I have to say my favorite part of working for DeckTec is the simple fact that I work here! DeckTec gave me, some chick from WY, a chance to shine. The ability to be able to work with and learn from people who have the skill and knowledge is an incredible opportunity that I don’t take lightly.
If you have out of town guests, where do you take them for dinner? The better question is, where are they taking me? Just kidding. I love taking my guests to Simms Steakhouse! Such a unique atmosphere and the food is worth the price. Still waiting on
the chance to take anyone to Casa Bonita though.
What is a memorable experience you had on a project or with a client that you are particularly fond of? I had the opportunity to work with Lee’s crew on a job way west of Loveland back in the mountains. Although it rained pretty much the entirety of the time we were up there camping and working, the area was gorgeous and we worked alongside the wildlife there. The Nuggets won the title while we were there, and the homeowner set up the tv in the basement so I could watch the game in real time. Although they watched upstairs, when the clock hit 0.0 on that game we were all cheering together. It was definitely a memorable trip!
What is your favorite thing to pack for lunch? My favorite thing to pack for lunch is enough money to pay someone else to make it. My wife is not a fan of that though, so realistically it’s a PB&J (with blackberry jelly!) and enough protein to get me through whatever work we have in store for the day.
