How do you know you’re in good hands when you choose DeckTec? Because our team members’ hands are multi-talented. In addition to being an exceptional carpenter, Cody’s has his hands on countless other projects and passions he pursues when not working. Cody Mitchell pitched for Golden when he was in High School. Later he spent time on the amateur bowling circuit. When he’s not bowling strikes on picking up spares, he’s throwing ringers in the horseshoe pit and taking laps on his dirt bike.

What do you like best about working at DeckTec?
At DeckTec, I’m able to showcase my talent and craftsmanship building custom decks and roof covers. I love working for an established company of specialists which means I have the opportunity and security to enjoy working with this team, and our clients, for years to come.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Since I love to ride motorcycles and dirt bikes, I bought a vintage home, built in 1946, in Rampart. I spend the winters working on the house, so I have time to dirt bike in the summer. I’ve spent time on the Amateur Bowling Tour and would consider myself an elite bowler, in addition to throwing a mean horseshoe. I also like working on cars. (editor note: Steve says Cody’s skills as a mechanic have saved DeckTec thousands of dollars by rolling up his sleeves and working on DeckTec’s “aged fleet.”)
What are some of your most memorable DeckTec jobs that you have worked on?
DeckTec has so many great clients, but a few in particular that stick out simply because they were so nice and treated us with respect and recognized our craftsmanship. The kindness that clients like Dave and Cheryl Hadsell, Vince Stover, Eric and Lisa Glade-Cook, and John Eley (and family) make an enjoyable job a whole lot better.
