DeckTec recently completed this stunning three-part outdoor living project for a home in Downtown Golden, Colorado, expanding the residents’ usable outdoor space while boosting the home’s curb appeal and value.

The project included three key additions: front entry steps with a railing, a second-story back deck and a backyard paver patio. DeckTec used Deckorators Voyage mineral-based composite in “Mesa” for the front stairs and upper-level decking, and both have rugged Fortress Fe26 steel railings to enhance safety and aesthetic appeal.

The second-story deck features an Undercover Systems waterproof under-deck ceiling, allowing it to act as a waterproof roof over the patio below. The paver patio, built using Basalite Premier Slate Positano pavers, offers a combination of covered and sunlit spaces to sit and relax. It features a variety of useful design elements, from several designated areas for dining, relaxing or socializing to a fire table that generates warmth during cooler Colorado evenings and enhances the ambiance with a cozy, inviting glow.

The paver patio also has several steps that lead down to the backyard, creating a seamless connection between the spaces while offering easy access to the lawn and walkway.

DeckTec worked closely with the client to create spaces that suit the home’s style, location and climate, incorporating features and design elements that allow for all-season use. From a private, elevated composite deck with plenty of space for reading or lounging to the expansive patio designed for tables and chairs, the new outdoor living project gives the homeowners ample room to enjoy their surroundings and the more than 300 days of sunshine Golden typically sees each year.
