Where The Deck Are We?

When I mention our office and shop is located in Golden, many people seem to think it’s far away in the mountains for some reason, but it’s actually very close. Our offices have been based in Golden, at the junction of many major roads since 1995. We love that it’s so easy to get anywhere from our central hub with I-76, C-470, I-70, Hwy. 93, and U.S. Hwy. 6 all surrounding us.

The city of Golden is rich in many aspects: its culture, its history, and its natural resources. It’s a beautiful historic town and a fabulous place to visit or spend the day. It’s nestled between the North and South Table Mountains and the majestic foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and got its name by formerly being a busy gold rush town.

It was known as Golden City when originally founded in 1859, and it quickly became the capital of the Colorado Territory in 1862. Many locals became outraged when the neighboring city of Denver took the honor in 1876 when Colorado officially became a state. However, the city of Golden continued to grow and flourish regardless.

It has thrived as a center of industry for many decades. In 1873 Adolph Coors opened a brewery in an old tannery building, taking advantage of the fresh mountain spring waters of Clear Creek. Today the Coors plant in Golden is the largest single brewing facility in the world, and it continues to remains a vital part of Golden’s business landscape. To this day, Golden continues to prosper and is home to a plethora of great restaurants, micro-breweries (Golden City Brewery, the 2nd largest brewery in the city, is definitely worth a visit if you enjoy beer), and other small businesses.

While Golden has always been home to many businesses, it’s also a center of intellectual development. The Colorado School of Mines was established in 1874 and distinguished itself by developing a program geared towards responsible stewardship of the earth and its resources.

If you’ve never been to Golden, it’s a great place to visit and experience the charming old town feel.

There are many different things to do depending on your interests, from a free tour of Coors brewery (including complimentary beers) to the Olde Golden Christmas events.

Clark Griswold Christmas Lights Funny Quote

Golden does their best Clark Griswold impression throughout the month of December, transforming into a festive city of lights. There are weekly parades, a holiday art market, and even holiday lights along Clear Creek.

There are many signature events throughout the year like the Golden Fine Arts Festival and Buffalo Bill Days.

Do yourself a favor and spend some time in the one and only ‘Golden City’ of Colorado this season.

My husband Matt and I [...] have moved away from the home where we had the beautiful deck and outdoor living space you created.  We will forever remember fondly that beautiful deck, and the hard work you did during a very bad economic time to fix problems around the foundation of our home.  Steve, Keith, and all of your workers were fabulous and we sent several of our friends your way with referrals.  We are sure that your deck helped us get a wonderful offer on our home.

Nancy & Matt, Lakewood

We just wanted to tell you how much we enjoy the decks DeckTec constructed at our home. Their use is a constant joy. We continually receive compliments on the design and quality of your work. We look forward to many years of use.

Eric & Gloria, Arvada

DeckTec are absolute pros. They just finished a big deck and roof cover project at my house. The total experience from working with Steve in Design and Sales, Keith in Project Management, and Charlie, Josh, and Hank in Construction was nothing but 6 star service. 100% on time and on budget with craftsmanship and quality. Skip the “Hammer and Nails” contractors and go with DeckTec if you want an “Outdoor Living Space”. Call these people – you will not be disappointed.

Dave & Sheila, Centennial

I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the work Decktec completed refinishing my deck. It hasn’t looked this good since it was new sixteen years ago. Decktec was very professional, polite and willing to work with me to get the exact color of stain I wanted. I would recommend Decktec to anyone who wants a complete job from the great construction work starting the job, to its thorough cleanup. I’m happy my neighbor referred me to Decktec. You are the fourth company I’ve had refinish my deck and will now be the only company I use going forward.
