DeckTec designed and constructed this wood deck replacement and paver patio for a home in Littleton, Colorado, merging natural materials with modern amenities to create a functional, well-appointed space for the family to enjoy.

The deck and patio project has upgrades throughout that boost beauty, durability and practicality, with a custom-built outdoor firepit adorned with decorative logs and lava coals among its standout features. A stucco outdoor kitchen area with a Delta Heat Natural Gas built-in grill gives the family plenty of room to cook without relying on the inside kitchen, while bar seating and granite countertops provide ample space for kicking back with a cold drink or preparing meals or meats for the grill.

The new wood deck replaces the home’s former deck and features eye-catching, weather-resistant Brazilian Ipe wood. Rugged Cedar posts with stucco columns support the deck’s open gable roof, while Douglas Fir headers and rafters add structural stability and enhance visual appeal.

Fortress metal deck railings surround the deck, creating a secure boundary, while skylights in the roof let natural light in during the day and offer a view of the stars at night. A wood cabinet with stone cladding makes an aesthetic impact while offering additional outdoor storage space.

An L-shaped staircase with a paver landing connects the deck to the paver patio below, where Keystone Vintage Antique Pewter pavers cover the ground and create a flat, level surface. DeckTec also included a tiered block wall seat surrounding a planter box, creating an additional seating area and room for flowers and greenery.

Heating & Illumination

This wood deck and paver patio also has several customizations that make it ideal for year-round use. Rope lights and post lights illuminate the space after dark, making it easier to navigate while creating a warm, cozy ambiance.

The deck and patio project also has heaters that boost comfort during colder months, ensuring usability during all four Colorado seasons.
